Oh the glory of waking up
From a relationship that was fraught with turmoil
My entire life
When did it start exactly?
All I know for sure is when it ended
Here today
You can hurt me no more.
You forfeit your right to speak to me
There will be no goodbyes,
No apologies
No long silence before it all starts again
A cat and mouse game
You loved so much
To win and win again
No there will be no center stage for you
For you died a decisive death
In my brain
From today.
And now finally it ends
My memory of you
Will always be a bad memory
But there is relief in knowing
I will never have to see you again
You are dead
The funeral is done
Your gravestone is marked
In a place I will never go to.
After the funeral
I am getting off you
Like a Bad drug
For so long I trusted you
And you created the worst possible shame
So it is with immense joy
I walk away
As I finally put myself first for a change
And know that I never will have to
Lay my eyes
Upon you
Again.
